Algebraic-Verbal Matching Game

This game is; It is to convert a verbal expression into an algebraic expression in the language of mathematics. In our game, we made the matching game concrete. We wrote verbal expressions on cardboard. We placed a cover next to each verbal expression. Algebraic expressions are written on the covers. The correct algebraic expression will be found and closed to the cover next to the correct verbal expression. This game is prepared to be suitable for playing in two groups.

Our goal is to help students understand what they read and translate it into the language of mathematics. We designed it as a game that can be played in two groups to increase their motivation. The fact that they were in a race allowed students to focus their attention better. We tried to increase the comprehension skills of the students and to find the correct algebraic expression.

Our game aimed to have fun while learning math. Indeed, thanks to this activity, students have been very successful in understanding what they read and turning it into algebraic expression. We played the game with a high level of motivation for all our students without any difficulties.
